Summer Schedule

There are few things more thrilling for a teacher than the world of possibilities opened up by the start of summer vacation. Besides spending more time with my wife and kids, my number one priority this summer is writing. My goal is to have a book-length manuscript drafted by the time I return to school at the beginning of September. Right now, I’m most excited about a long-term book project that I’m engaged in, titled The Hunger to Be: George MacDonald and the Aspirational Will. Realistically, the scope of this project and the research required for it is such that there is no way it will be finished this year. Nevertheless, my plan is to publish on this blog a series of short essays containing some of the material that will eventually be worked into the book. I will also be posting older essays that I haven’t before had the platform to share. It’s going to be an exciting summer!
